Saved from My Enemies
Read 2 Samuel 21:1 through 22:51
“I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and have been saved from my enemies” (2 Samuel 22:4).
David sang in worship to God for saving him from all his enemies. And David had faced many enemies over the years: wild animals while shepherding his father’s flocks, King Saul, foreign powers, and even one of his own sons who tried to take the kingdom from him. In every circumstance David called on the Lord for help, and those calls were answered. David knew that God is worthy of praise.
Christians are also saved from their enemies. Jesus delivers them from the guilt and power of sin. He frees them from the fear of death and ultimately from its power. He provides for victory over spiritual forces that war against their souls. And this does not even begin to count the trials of everyday living that battle against believers for which Jesus Christ supplies victory by His grace and power. Like David, Christians should worship the Lord who is worthy of praise because He saves them from every enemy.
